Sample Itinerary
Discount Vacations gives you the freedom to create your dream vacation. Here's a sample to get you started. Summary : COZUMEL 7-night Itinerary

Day1
Arrive in Cozumel. Check into your hotel- remember your room may not be ready until after 3pm so be sure to pack a swimsuit in your carry-on bag. Enjoy the day relaxing at your hotel, simply basking in the sun or enjoying your hotel's amenities and restaurants. But be sure to meet your TNT Rep. at the Welcome Briefing, then sit back and watch a beautiful Mexican sunset, have dinner and check out the nightly entertainment.

Day2
Start your day with a big breakfast, there is always lots of variety. Get into your bathing suit and explore the beach. Try kayaking, sailing, or learn to dive with the help of your hotel watersports staff. Get involved in the hotel activities. After a long leisurely lunch and a traditional Mexican "Siesta" (a quick nap, preferably in a hammock), hop in a taxi and head into the town of San Miguel. Find a good Happy Hour, browse the shops, or just sit on a bench overlooking the Caribbean and people watch.

Day3
Now that you have started on your tan and are more familiar with your hotel it is time to explore the Island. The best way to do this is to rent a car or a Jeep. Ask your TNT Rep. or Fiesta Holidays about rentals at reasonable prices. Be sure to see Cozumel's most exciting sites: the Mayan ruins of San Gervasio, the beautiful vistas of the east side, explore the Chankanabb National Park and lagoon area.
After dinner take the car and head downtown to San Miguel for some nightlife. Carlos n Charlie's restaurant and bar is great fun for the young at heart! Joe's Reggae bar with its live band playing nightly is a must. If you still have the energy, Viva Mexico disco is open until the wee hours of the morning.

Day4
This is a good day for a tour to Mexico's mainland. Travel by ferry to Playa del Carmen to take a day trip to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and the National Park of Xel-Ha. Spend your morning wandering among ancient Mayan temples set above the Caribbean Sea. After lunch, swim among colorful tropical fish and explore the many coves, inlets and lagoons in Xel-Ha's crystal clear waters. Don't forget your sunscreen and camera. The ferry returns you to Cozumel at the end of the day.

Day5
Explore the underwater world surrounding Cozumel! Spend the day snorkeling. You can opt for a half day offshore snorkeling trip or, if you prefer, try the crystalline seaside lagoon at Chankanaab Lagoon National Park. Wherever you go you won't be disappointed at the amazing array of sea life.

Day6
Shopping in Mexican open-air markets is a wonderful experience and the best place for souvenirs. San Miguel is Cozumel's capital. Its winding streets are lined with shops and will take you to Plaza del Sol, the heart of the town. Remember, shops close for a siesta between 1 and 5pm and re-open at 5pm and stay open as late as 9pm so plan your day accordingly.

Day7
Departure Day. Relax, enjoy as much weather and warmth as possible, and mentally prepare yourself to re-enter reality!

Month List of Events
February In February there are a number of festivals to celebrate Carnival, the beginning of Lent. Merida, Cozumel, Campeche, and Isla Mujeres all host parades with many colorful floats, sporting events.
March-September The days of equinox, March 21 and September 22, are particularly special days to visit the ancient Mayan capital of Chichen Itza. On these days, the largest structure of the capital, Kukulcan, displays an interesting phenomenon. The sun casts a shadow from noon until 5:00 p.m., which obscures all but a single winding band of light on the outside wall. This gives the appearance of a snake slithering down the north staircase of the pyramid.
September-October The two week religious festival of El Senor de las Ampollas (September 27 - October 14) is celebrated with a big fiesta featuring fireworks, religious services, dancing and music. On December 8, fiestas are held at Izamal, Celestun and Chompoton. Chompoton hosts a large boat procession, many aquatic events and a fair.
